Ingredients:
| Podalankai (diced) | -1 cup |
| Tamarind | -small marble size |
| Garlic(optional) | -2 |
| Cumin | -½tsp |
| Salt | -to taste |
Seasoning:
| Oil | -1tbsp |
| Mustard | -1tsp |
| Urad Dhal | -2tbsp |
| Chana Dhal | -2tbsp |
| Green Chili | -6 to 8 |
| Asafotida | -pinch |
| Curry leaves | -few |
Method:
- Take a pan heat with oil add seasoning fry until dals get golden brown then take out and keep it aside.
- Same pan add podalankai fry 3 to 4 minutes and let it cool.
- Take a seasonings put it in the blender grind without water .
- Not very fine and very coarse then add podalankai, tamarind, cumin , garlic and salt grind it like coarse.
- Serve hot white rice with ghee.
Note:
- Fresh podalankai is not available in your area you can use frozen podalankai.
- Instead of green chili you can use red chili or combine both chilies.
- This chutney should be spicy and little tangy.
