Ingredients:
| Thoor Dhal(cooked) | -½cup(mashed) |
| Mullangi | -1 ½ cup |
| Onion(chopped) | -¼cup |
| Tamarind | -marble size |
| Tomato(diced) | -1 |
| Sambar powder | -2tsp |
| Turmeric | -¼tsp |
| Salt | -to taste |
| Coriander leaves | -few |
Seasoning:
| Oil | -2tsp |
| Mustard | -½tsp |
| Urad Dhal | -½tsp |
| Cumin | -¼tsp |
| Fenugreek Seeds | -¼tsp |
| Asafotida | -¼tsp |
| Red Chili | -1 |
| Curry Leaves | -few |
Method:
- Cook the thoor dhal with water and keep it aside.
- Peel and cut the mullangi about thin slices and keep it aside.
- Soak the tamarind with ½ cup of water and squeeze out the pulp and keep it aside.
- Take a heavy bottom vessel heat with oil add seasoning fry without burning.
- Now add onion sauté for 1 minute then add tomato , little salt and turmeric sauté until tomato get mash.
- Then add mullangi sauté for 2 to 4 minute , add sambar powder , tamarind pulp, remaining salt and 2 cups of water.
- Cover with lid cook it on medium flame until mullangi get soft.
- Then add mashed thoor dhal cook it for 3 to 4 minutes then turn off the stove.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve with white rice.
Note:
- You can use white or red Radish(mullangi).
