Serving: 4 | Type: Veg Kuzhambu/ Sambar
Ingredients:
| Kadugu(mustard) | -2tbsp |
| Sesame Oil | -3tbsp |
| Mustard,Urad dhal | -½tsp each |
| Fenugreek | -½tsp |
| Curry Leaves | -few |
| Red Chili and Green Chili | -1 each |
| Tamarind | -small lemon size |
| Garlic(cut) | -10 to 15 pods |
| Sambar Powder | -2 to 3tbsp |
| Turmeric | -pinch |
| Salt | -to taste |
| Jaggrey or sugar | -1tbsp |
Method:
- Soak the mustard for 2 to 3 hours and grind with little water and keep it aside (grind smoothly).
- Soak the tamarind with ½ cup of water and squeeze out the pulp and keep it aside.
- Take a pan heat with oil add mustard, fenugreek, curry leaves and chili fry without burning.
- Then add garlic sauté for few minutes with salt until it gets soft.
- Now add ground mustard paste fry until raw smell goes.
- Then add sambar powder, turmeric mix well and sauté for a minute.
- Now add tamarind pulp and mix well.
- Cook it until raw smell goes.
- Now add sugar then turn off the stove.
- Serve with white rice.
Note:
- If you want you can add 1 tbsp store bought Vatha Kuzhambu powder along with sambar powder.
