Ingredients:
Masala (Gravy):
| Onion Chopped | -1 ½ cup |
| Tomato Chopped | -1 ½ cup |
| Green chili Slit | -2 |
| Chili Powder | -1tsp |
| Coriander Powder | -2tsp |
| Turmeric powder | -¼tsp |
| Ginger Garlic Paste | -1tsp |
| Salt | -to taste |
| Chicken Masala Powder | -2tbsp |
| Coriander Leaves | -2tbsp |
Egg Mixture For Mini Idly:
| Egg | 3 |
| Chili Powder | -¼tsp |
| Garam Masala | -¼tsp |
| Ginger garlic Paste | -¼tsp |
| Turmeric | -¼tsp |
| Salt | -to taste |
| Onion Chopped | -3tbsp |
Seasoning:
| Oil | -3tbsp |
| Sombu | -½tsp |
| Cumin | -½tsp |
| Fenugreek Seeds | -¼tsp |
| Red Chili | -1 |
| Cloves | -2 |
| Cinnamon | -1 inch |
| Curry Leaves | -few |
For grinding:(Optional)
| Coconut | -3tbsp |
| Puttukadalai (fried gram dhal) Or Mundhiripparuppu (cashewnut) | -2tbsp |
Method:
- Break 3 egg use the whole egg or just egg whites.
- Mix in the ingredients for mini egg idly.
- Take a mini idly pan and grease with oil.
- Place the egg mixture in each of the hole approximately 3/4 full.
- Place it in the steamer and make idly out of it and keep it aside.
- Take a pan heat with oil add seasonings fry without burning,
- Now add onion and green chili sauté for 1 minute and then add the tomato, turmeric and salt sauté well until tomato gets mashed.
- Add ginger garlic paste fry it until raw smell goes now add all masala powders mix well.
- Add 3 cups of water boil it for 10 minutes on medium flame.
- Now add ground paste.(optional)
- Then add mini idly cook for 5 minutes garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve with rice, pulav, chappati or idly.
Mircowave Directions:
- You can make the mini eggs in the microwave also add 4 tbsp spoon puttukadalai mavu (fried gram dhal powder) in the egg mixture.
- Spoon on to a microwavable plate and cook it for 18 to 20 seconds.
Notes:
- This dish taste will like Kozhi (chicken) masala. But there is no kozhi (chicken) in it.
- If you are using egg whites, four eggs.
- If you want more spicy you can increase the chili powder.
- You can make these mini eggs in either a medium or a mini idly pan (pictures are above).
