Ingredients:
Mutton | -1 lb |
Onion Diced | -2cups |
Tomato Diced | -1 cup |
Garlic | -15 to 20 |
Chili Powder | -1tbsp |
Dhaniya Powder | -2tsp |
Turmeric Powder | -1/4 tsp |
Salt | -to taste |
Coriander leaves | -2tbsp |
Seasoning:
Oil | -4tbsp |
Sombu | -1tsp |
Fenugreek seeds | -1/2 tsp |
Cumin | -1/2 tsp |
Black Pepper | -1/2 tsp |
Kal Paasi(Stone Flower) | -1 or 2 |
Red Chili | -2 |
Green chili | -2 |
Curry Leaves | -few |
Method:
- Wash the Mutton and cut it small pieces.
- Take a cooker heat with oil add seasonings fry without burning.
- Now add onion and garlic sauté for a minute, then add tomato.
- Sauté until tomato gets soft, then add mutton.
- Sauté for 3 to 5 minutes, now add chili, dhaniya, turmeric powder.
- Mix it well for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Then add 1 to 2cups of water and add salt mix well.
- Now cover with lid until 4 to 5 whistles comes, let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Now turn off the stove.
- After pressure gone down open the cooker Check the salt and spicy.
- Boil it until most of the water evaporates.
- It is very thick gravy.
- This is chettinad special.
- Serve with Rice, Chappathi, Idly and Dosa
Note:
- I cooked it in the Instant pot. Sautéed then cook for 10 minutes.
- You can adjust your spice level.
