Serving: 2 to 3 People| Type: Vegetarian Rice
Ingredients:
Basmathi Rice | -1 cup |
Oil and Ghee | -3tbsp |
Clove | -2 |
Cinnamon | -1 inch |
Bay leaves | -1 |
Green chili slit | -1 |
Onion Sliced | -1 cup |
Tomato cut | -1(small) |
Coriander Leaves | -2tbsp chopped |
Ginger, Garlic (big) | – 1inch,3 pods |
Thandoori Masala Powder | -1tbsp |
Garam Masala | -1/4 tsp |
Salt | -to taste |
Water | -3 cups |
Method:
- Wash and soak the rice for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Take a mortal put the ginger garlic and pound it fine and keep it aside.
- Take a heavy bottom pan heat with ghee and oil.
- Now add cloves, cinnamon,bay leaves fry it few seconds.
- Then add ginger garlic saute few seconds, then add onion and green chili.
- Saute until color changes, (not dark brown) now add tomato saute few seconds.
- Now add coriander leaves mix it well.
- Then add Tandoori masala powder mix it well.
- Strain the water from soaked rice.
- Add it into the pan saute for 2 minutes on medium flame.
- Now add the water, salt and garam masala stir it well.
- Let it boil nicely mix it and check the salt, and cover with lid.
- Keep it simmer for 15 minutes, don’t stir in between.
- Turn off the stove. Keep it on the stove for 10 minutes then stir it.
- Now ready to serve with any gravy, curry and raitha.
Note:
- If you want more spicy, you can add more green chili.
- I added 3 cups water, if you know your rice quality you can adjust your water.
- For onion you have to saute light brown, then only the we can get the nice color for rice.
