Ingredients:
Boiled Rice | -¼ cup |
Thoor Dhal | -½ cup |
Channa Dhal | -½ cup |
Mung Dhal | -2tsp |
Urad Dhal | -2tsp |
Red Chili | -5 to 7 |
Sombu(optional) | -½tsp |
Cumin | -½tsp |
Asafotida | -¼tsp |
Mixing Ingredients:
Onion(Chopped) | -½ cup |
Green Chili(chopped) | -1 |
Coriander Leaves(chopped) | -3tbsp |
Curry Leaves | -few |
Turmeric | -¼tsp |
Salt | -to taste |
Grated Coconut(optional) | -2tbsp |
Method:
- Grind dryly rice, red chili, sombu, cumin and asafotida into a smooth powder (do not add water).
- Then grind all dhals into coarse powder (not very coarse), do not add water.
- Mix together with 1 ½ cup water and keep it aside for 4 to 5 hours.
- Then mix all the ingredients given above.
- Heat the tawa and pour 1 big spoon (Kuzhi Karandi) of batter and spread it into round shape.
- Then sprinkle little oil on top of the adai and cook for 1 or 2 minute on medium flame.
- Then turn it other side and cook it until it gets brown.
- Now ready to serve with any chutney.
Note:
- Thuvaram paruppu, kadalai paruppu, pasi paruppu, ulutham paruppu.
- This adai mix can be ground in bulk quantities and store it in a dry place.
