Type: Masala Powder
Ingredients:
Javvarisi or Sago | -8 cups |
Boiled Rice (idly rice) | -4 cups |
Pottukkadalai (fried gram) | -2 cups |
Salt | -2tbsp |
Cardamom | -1tsp |
Omam(oregano) | -1tsp |
Ghee | -1tsp |
Method
- Apply ghee on sago, roast it and keep it aside.
- Dry roast the rice until it get pops up and keep it aside.
- Just roast very lightly the fried gram dhal and keep it aside.
- Dry roast omam, salt and cardamom individually.
- Mix all together and grind it smooth powder in the mixer grinder.
- You can store the powder in a dry container for many months.
- Take 2tbsp of powder mix it with 1 cup of water in a pan then place it on the stove on medium flame.
- Stir the mixture continuously with a whisk so that no lumps form and it does not stick to the bottom of the pan.
- Cook it until it gets thickens and become glossy.
- Serve it warm to childern that are 4 months and older.
Note:
- If you want you can add sugar while cooking.
- You can also add panangalkundu (crystal palm sugar) which is very good for health.
- In Hindi omam is called Ajwain.
