Ingredients:
Kadalai paruppu | -1 cup |
Thur Dhal | -1/4 cup |
Red Chili | -5 |
Cumin | -1/4tsp |
Aniseed(Sombu) | -1/2tsp |
Garlic | -1 pod |
Salt | -to taste |
Asafotida | -1/4tsp |
Water | Little to grind |
Mixing:
Onion | -1/2 cup(chopped) |
Coriander Leaves | -2tbsp (chopped) |
Curry Leaves | -1tbsp (chopped) |
Green Chili (optional) | -1 (chopped) |
Kadalai Paruppu (soaked) | -2tbsp (optional) |
Oil | -For Frying |
Method:
- Soak both dhals about 1-2 hours.
- Grind all the ingredients listed for grinding very coarsely into a batter.
- Don’t add too much water.
- Mix all other ingredients listed for mixing, except oil.
- Take a pan heat with oil, make a small and round disc, place in the hot oil and fry it.
- Fry until it is golden brown on medium flame.
- Serve it hot with ketchup.
Note:
- You can use yellow split peas instead of both dhals.
- You can use cabbage instead of onion.
