Serving:2 (10 to 12 pieces)|Type: Roti
Ingredients:
Whole Wheat Flour | -1 ½ cups |
Salt | -to taste |
Warm Water | -¾ to 1 cup |
Oil | -1tsp |
Method:
- Add flour, salt, oil mix with hand then add warm water and roll it into a soft dough.
- Apply ¼tsp oil over the dough, cover with lid and keep it aside for 3 to 4 hours.
- Take the dough make lemon size balls.
- Take a ball dust with rice flour and roll it like thin round shape.
- Heat the tawa, cook the rolled chappati without oil on both sides on medium flame.
- After the chappati has cook half way, take it out of the tawa.
- Place it over high flame and it will rise one side, then turn it over the other side again it will rise up.
- Then take it out from the flame keep it aside. Do not leave it on open flame for more than 2 seconds on each side.
- Continue same process on the rest of the dough.
- If you want apply ghee or oil.
- Serve hot with any side dish.
Note:
- You can buy a wire rack for making Phulka chappati, if you don’t want to work on open flame.
- If you cook it on the flame please be careful, you can use tongs.
- If there is a hole in the chappati it will not rise.
