Ingredients:
Pilakkai | -1 cup (cubed) |
Thoor Dhal | -¼ cup (cooked) |
Chili Powder | -½tsp |
Coriander Powder | -½tsp |
Turmeric | -¼tsp |
Onion | -2tsp(Diced) |
Salt | -to taste |
Water | -1 cup |
Seasoning:
Oil | -1tsp |
Urad Dhal | -½tsp |
Cumin | -½tsp |
Red Chili | -1 |
Curry Leaves | -few |
Method:
- Peel the skin and cut the pilakkai into cubes.
- Pressure cook dhal for 2 whistles and turn off the stove. Dhal should be ¾ cooked.
- Take a vessel pour water, pilakkai, all powders, onion and salt
- Place a lid and boil it until vegetable cook soft.
- Now add cooked dhal, mix it well, and cook for 2 minutes.
- Take another pan heat with oil add seasonings fry without burning.
- Add into the cooked vegetable, then turn off the stove.
- Serve hot with rice.
Note:
- If you can not find fresh pilakkai you can use canned young jackfruit.
- If you like you can grind coconut 2tbsp and cumin 1/2tsp. Add into the koottu.
