Ingredients:
Basmati Rice | -1 cup |
Onion | -1/2 cup (chopped) |
Water | -2 to 2 1/2cups |
Salt | -to taste |
Ginger & Garlic Paste | -1tsp |
Seasoning:
Oil & Ghee | -3tbsp |
Cloves | -2 |
Cinnamon | -1 inch |
Bay leaves | -1 |
For Grinding:
Mint Leaves | -1 cup |
Green Chili | -4 |
Onion | -1/2 cup |
Water | -1/4 cup |
Garlic | -2 (optional) |
Method:
- Soak the rice for 10-15 minutes, drain it and keep it aside.
- Take a heavy bottom vessel, heat with oil and ghee and add seasonings.
- Now add ½ cup of onion sauté for 1 minute, add ginger garlic paste and fry it well.
- Now add ground paste and fry it for appropriately 2 minutes in medium flame, then add rice fry for 1-2 minutes.
- Add water and salt cook it in the rice cooker .
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve it hot with raitha or Sodhi
Note:
- You can add 1 tomato to sauté along with the onion.
- You can cook the rice in soup pot with lid. After adding the water, boil it well, stir it occasionally and check the salt then cover the pan and cook it in very low flame about 10-15 minutes. Don’t stir the rice after closing the pot with a lid. Then turn off the stove.
