10 Bean Soup Mix Adai

Serving: 2 (8 adai) |Type: Tiffin

 

Ingredients:

Beans (10 bean mix) -1 cup
Boiled Rice -1/4 cup
Red Chili  -3
Green Chili 2
Ani Seed (Sombu) 1/2 tsp
Cumin -½ tsp
Asafoetida -¼ tsp
Onion -1 (chopped)
Curry Leaves few (chopped)
Coriander Leaves 2 tbsp (chopped)
Salt to taste
Tumeric – 1/4 tsp (optaional)

Method:

  1. Soak the rice and beans separately for 4 hours.
  2. Grind the rice with both chilies, sombu and cumin with ¼ cup water.
  3. It should be very fine paste, then add soaked beans.
  4. Then grind like coarse paste.
  5. Add chopped onion, curry leaves and coriander leaves.
  6. Then add salt and asofoetida,mix well.
  7. Heat the tawa and make like thick dosa on medium flame.
  8. Then turn the dosa on the other side let it cook like golden brown.
  9. Now it ready to serve.

Note:

  1. The 10 bean soup mix can be bought in loose in stores like Spourt’s and it is available in packets in any American grocery store, next to various grains and rice.
  2. You can add grated coconut.
  3. You can avoid onion,sombu, if you do not prefer it.
  4. You can eat  it with jaggrey or chutney.
