Ingredients:
All-purpose flour | 2 cups |
Sugar | ¾ cup |
Baking Powder | 3 ½ tsp |
Eggs (separated) | 2 |
Milk | 1 ½ cups |
Butter (melted) | 1 cup |
Vanilla extract | 1 ½ tsp |
Salt | A pinch |
Method
- In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
- Separate the eggs, in one bowl place the egg whites and in another bowl place the egg yolks.
- Lightly beat egg yolks and add milk, butter and vanilla; mix well.
- Stir the wet mixture into dry the ingredients just until combined.
- Then beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Add the beaten egg whites into batter and fold in gently.
- Bake in a preheated waffle iron according to manufacturer’s directions until golden brown.
- Serve with syrup.
