Chow Chow Raitha(Chayote squash yogurt sauce)

 

Serving:3 |Type: Veg-Raitha

Ingredients:

 

Chow Chow -1(diced)
Green Chili -2 or 3
Cumin -1tsp
Grated Coconut -2tbsp
Yogurt – 1cup
Salt -to taste

 

Seasoning:

Coconut Oil -1tsp
Mustard -½tsp
Urad Dhal -½tsp
Red Chili -1
Curry Leaves -few
Asafotida -pinch(optional)

 

Method:

  1. Grind green chili, coconut and cumin with little water.
  2.  Take a pan heat with little oil sauté chow chow for 5 minute without changing color,  then add salt.
  3. Now add ground paste cook it for 2 to 3 minutes then turn off the stove.
  4. Let it cool down  then add yogurt.
  5. Take a pan heat with oil add seasoning fry without burning then add it into the boiled vegetable.
  6. Serve it like side dish for pulauv or biriyani.
