Coconut Chutney

Serving: 2 |Type: side dish/Pillayar Nombu

Ingredients:

 

Coconut grated -1/2 cup
Fried gram dhal -1/4 cup
Green chili -2
Red chili -2
Water -1cup
Salt -to taste

 

Seasoning:

Oil -1tsp
Mustard -1/2 tsp
Urad dhal -1/2 tsp
Red chili -1
Curry leaves -few
Asafoetida -1 pinch

Method:

  1. Grind all the ingredients above with  cup of water.
  2. Then season it and serve it.

 

 

Note:

  1. It goes with vada, idly,dosa, pongal and uppma.
  2. You can add ¼ finely chopped onion in the chutney.
  3. If you are using dry or frozen coconut, grind with warm water. This helps the coconut grind properly.
