Ingredients:
Desiccated coconut | -1/3 cup |
Ghee | -3tbsp |
Sugar | -2/3 cups |
Milk(Warm) | -1/4 cup |
Vanilla extract | -1tsp |
Water | -to immerse the sugar |
Method:
- In a mixe, grind the coconut with only milk.
- Heat a non-stick deep pan with sugar and water
- Let the sugar melt until you get one string consistence (Touch the sugar syrup between your thumb and index finger; it should be able to pull one string between your finger, if you slowly pull your finger apart).
- After the sugar, comes to one string consistency, add the ground coconut paste.
- Now keep it medium heat, stir it continuously.
- Add the ghee and the vanilla extract.
- The mixture will start coming together without sticking to the bottom of the pan.
- In the meantime grease a tray with ghee or melted butter.
- The turn off the stove.
- Pour the mixture onto the tray and then smoothen the top.
- Allow it cool down and then you can cut it into piece of your liking.
- You can store this in an airtight container for a week.
