Pappalikkai Thovandal(Greated papaya fry)

 

Serving:2 |Type: veg Side dish

Ingredients:

Pappalikkai greated -1 cup
Thoor dhal -¼ cup
Onion -¼ cup
Green Chili -2 (slit)
Salt -to taste

 

Seasoning:

Oil -1tsp
Mustard -½tsp
Urad dhal -½tsp
Red chili -1
Curry leaves -few
Asafotida -pinch

 

Method:

  1. Pressure cook the dhal for half way done, not overcook and keep it aside.
  2. Take a pan heat with oil add seasoning fry without burning.
  3. Add onion and green chili sauté for a minute with salt.
  4. Now add grated papaya sauté for 3 minutes then add cooked dhal.
  5. Now ready to serve with rice.

Note:

  1. If you want you can add 2tbsp grated coconut.
  2. Instead of greated  papaya you can use diced papaya and do this Thovandal.
