All Purpose Flour -3 cups
Salt -1tsp

Method:

  1. Warm 1 ¼ cup of water in the microwave for 2 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add 2 tbsp of sugar.
  3. Then added the heated water to the sugar.
  4. Check to make sure that the water is warm to touch and then add the packet of yeast.
  5. Allow all of this to dissolve and rest for 5 minutes.
  6. Next add the melted butter to the yeast liquid.
  7. Then add the salt, 2 tbsp of water and 3 cups of all-purpose flour.
  8. Mix all of this together with a spoon into sticky dough.
  9. Then dust a clean surface with some all-purpose flour.
  10. Knead the sticky dough on the dusted surface for 7 to 10 minutes.
  11. The dough should be smooth and soft, lightly oil the dough and then place it back in the large mixing bowl and cover it tightly.
  12. Allow it to rise for an hour.
  13. Meanwhile, take a 9x13in pan and grease it with butter and dust it lightly with all-purpose flour.
  14. After the hour, punch the raised dough and quickly knead it for another 3 to 5 minutes.
  15. Then roll it in to a log shape and cut it into approximately 15 pieces.
  16. Roll each piece into a round bun shape and place it onto the greased pan.
  17. Cover it tightly with plastic wrap and allow it to rise for another one hour.
  18. Preheat the oven to 450F in the convection mode, (this mode allows for the hot air to be circulated thoroughly).
  19. Then bake for 8-10 minutes until it becomes brown on the top and light brown on the bottom.
  20. Allow the bread to cool a little bit, (the bread will become softer as it cools down).
  21. The bun is ready to be served with Pav Bhaji or Vada Pav.

Note:

  1. After it has baked, light brush the top of the bun with some ghee for extra flavor (optional).
