Pottukadalai Murukku

Serving: 25 to 30 |Type: Deepavali Snack

Ingredients:

Raw Rice Flour(Powder) -3 cups
Pottukadalai -1cup
Salt -to taste
Asafotida -½tsp
Oil  -for deep frying
Sesame seeds(optional) -2tbsp
Hot oil or butter -2tbsp

Method:

  1. Take a pottukadalai put it in the mixe make like powder and sieve it.
  2. Mix everything with water like chappati dough.
  3. Take a pan heat with on medium high.
  4. Take a murukku press with 1 star press.
  5. Fill the dough and make like a round murukku and cook it both sides.
  6. Until it gets golden color.
  7. Then take out from the oil and put it in the paper towel.
  8. Let it cool then store it in the air tight container.

Note:

  1. If it is store bought rice flour 3:1 ratio should be fine.
  2. Otherwise homemade rice flour 4:1 ratio works.
