Thengai Pal Kanchi (Coconut Milk Porridge)

Serving: 3 | Type: Breakfast

 

Ingredients:

Raw rice (Long Grain) -1 cup
Fenugreek seeds -1/2 tsp
Garlic peeled -4 pods
Water -4 cups
Coconut milk -11/2 cups
Salt -to taste

Method:

  1. Wash the rice and add the fenugreek, garlic and water to rice.
  2. Put the rice into the pressure cooker let 3 to 4 whistle comes then keep it in sim for 10 minutes. Then switch of the stove.
  3. Let it cool down and open it.
  4. Then add coconut milk and salt.
  5. Turn on the stove again, let it boil for 5 minutes and turn it off again.
  6. Serve hot with any chutney (thovayal).
  7. It should look semi-solid ( like porridge).

 

Note:

  1. You can serve with sugar.
  2. Coconut thovayal is the best one.
