Rawa Laddu (Semolina flour OR Sooji)

Serving: 15 to 20 Balls

Type: Deepavali Sweets \ Sweets

Ingredients:

Fine Sooji (Rawa) – 1 cup
Sugar Powder -1 cup
Ghee -1/2 cup
Cardamom -4
Broken Cashew nuts -15-20 pieces
Raisins -15-20 pieces

Method:

  1. Dry roast rawa on medium flame until raw smell goes.
  2. Let it cool.
  3. Then powder it in the mixie.
  4. Now take a pan heat with 1 tbsp ghee and roast the dry fruits and keep it aside.
  5. Mix everything except ghee.
  6. Now take a pan heat the ghee on medium flame.
  7. It should be hot but color should not change.
  8. Add the ghee into rawa mixture little by little.
  9. The mixture should be like wet sand consistency (where if you squeeze the mixture together it, should hold tightly; if you smash it, it should become powder again).
  10. Mix everything and make a round shape ball.
  11. Store it in the air tight container.

Note:

  1. If ghee is not enough you can add some more ghee.
  2. You can use any kind of Rawa. I used Fine Sooji.
  3. If you don’t have sugar powder, you can grind granulated sugar in the mixie.
  4. I used store bought powder sugar.
