Chow Chow Tholl Thovayal(Chayote squash skin chutney)

Serving:2 |Type: breakfast-side dish

Ingredients:

Chow Chow skin -1 cup
Onion -½ cup
Tomato -¼ cup
Tamarind -small marble size
Salt -to taste

Seasoning:

Oil -2tbsp
Mustard -1tsp
Urad Dhal -2tsp
Chana Dhal -2tbsp
Red chili -5 or 6
Asafotida -¼tsp
Curry leaves -few

Method:

  1. Take a pan heat with oil add seasonings fry without burning.
  2. Now add onion  and chow chow skin sauté well then add tomato sauté for 2 minutes then turn off the stove.
  3. Let it cool down  then add tamarind and salt.
  4. Grind it in the mixer grinder with little water.
  5. It should be coarse not fine paste.
  6. Serve with hot rice with ghee or any tiffin variety.
