Idly Milakai Podi(Chutney Powder)


Red Chili -1 cup
Urad Dhal -1 ½ cup
Asafotida -2 small pieces
Curry Leaves -½ cup
Salt -to taste
Oil -2tsp



  1. Take a pan dry roast salt first and keep it aside.
  2. Then add oil to the same pan and fry red chili without burning keep it aside.
  3. Next in the same pan add a little more oil and fry asafetida and keep it a side.
  4. Again add a little more oil and fry urad dhal  until it is golden brown and keep it aside.
  5. Again add a little more oil on the pan and then fry curry leaves.
  6. After all the ingredients have cooled down and mix everything together and grind it in a blender or mixie into a course powder .
  7. You can use this powder for idly, dosa and Adai.


  1. You can fry everything together also, but you have to careful and make sure that every ingredient is roast perfectly.
