Mixed Baby Greens Kootu

Serving: 4 |Type: Veg-Side Dish


Mixed Greens(Chopped) -3cups
Mung Dhal(pasi paruppu) -¼ cup
Onion(chopped) -½ cup
Tomato(chopped) -½ cup
Green chili(slit) -2
Sambar Powder -½tsp
Turmeric -¼tsp
Garlic(optional) -1(crushed)
Salt -to taste



Oil -1tbsp
Mustard -1tsp
Urad Dhal -1tsp
Cumin -½tsp
Red Chili -2


  1. Cook the dhal with water in the pressure cooker and keep it aside.
  2. Take a pan heat with oil add seasonings fry without burning.
  3. Then add onion, green chili and crushed garlic sauté for a minute, then add tomato and turmeric sauté until tomato get mash.
  4. Now add chopped greens sauté well, add sambar powder mix well then add 1 cup of water.
  5. Cook well then add cooked dhal mix it and boil it for 2 to 3 minutes, then turn off the stove.
  6. Add salt.
  7. Serve with white rice.
