Pavakkai Poriyal(Bitter Guard masala)

 

Serving:3 |Type: veg- side dish

Ingredients:

Pavakkai -3(diced)
Onion -1(chopped)
Tomato -1(chopped)
Turmeric -¼tsp
Chili Powder -2tsp
Salt -to taste
Coriander Leaves -few

 

Seasoning:

Oil -3tbsp
Mustard -½tsp
Urad Dhal -½tsp
Sombu -¼tsp
Cumin -¼tsp
Fenugreek -¼tsp
Curry leaves -few

 

Method:

  1. Take a pan heat with oil add seasoning fry without burning.
  2. Add onion saute for 1 or 2 minute then add tomato , turmeric and little salt sauté well until tomato get mash.
  3. Add pavakkai sauté for 5 minutes cover with lid.
  4. Now add chili powder and remaining salt mix well cover with lid cook until all vegetable get soft on medium flame.
  5. Turn off the stove garnish with coriander leaves.
  6. Serve with hot rice and ghee.

Note:

  1. If you want you can increase or decrease the chili powder.
  2. If you don’t like the bitter you can boil with little tamarind and salt, then strain the water and use for this poriyal.
