Pilakkai Poriyal (Young Jack Fruit Fry)

Ingredients:

Pilakkai (cut-small) -1 cup(boiled)
Onion chopped -1/4 cup
Green chili -2
Coconut Grated -2tbsp (optional)
Thoor Dhal ( Half-cooked) -2tbsp (optional)
Turmeric -1/4tsp (optional)
Salt -to taste

Seasoning:

Mustard -1/2tsp
Urad Dhal -1tsp
Red Chili -1
Curry Leaves -few
Oil -1tbsp

Method:

  1. In a pan heat oil, add seasonings fry without burning.
  2. Now add onion, green chili, salt and turmeric sauté well in medium flame.
  3. Now addthe  boiled pilakkai and mix it will. Then cover it with lid and cook for about 5 minutes on medium flame.
  4. Add cooked dhal and grated coconut stir it well and cook it for 1 minute.
  5. Now turn off the stove.
  6. Serve hot with white rice.

Note:

  1. If you  use the can pilakkai you don’t need to boil it.
  2. If you use the fresh one you have to peel the skin cut very small cubes then boil with salt.
