Podalangai Thovayal

 

Serving: 4 | Type: Tiffin- Side dish

Ingredients:

Podalangai (cut) -2cups
Onion(chopped) -½ cup
Tomato(chopped) -1small
Tamarind -small marble size
Salt -to taste
Oil -1tbsp
Mustard -1tsp
Urad Dhal -1tsp
Chana dhal -1tbsp
Green and red chili each -2
Curry leaves -few

Method:

  1. Take a pan heat with oil add seasonings fry without burning.
  2. Add chili, onion, podalangai sauté for 2 to 3 minutes then add tomato sauté until tomato get mash.
  3. Then turn off the stove.
  4. Now add tamarind and salt.
  5. Grind coarsely in the blender with little water.
  6. If you want you can season with mustard, uard dhal.
  7. Serve with any tiffin verity.
