Urulai kizhangu or Aaloo paratha (Potato Stuffed Paratha)

Serving: 2| Type: Roti

Ingredients  for stuffing:

Potato boiled -2big
Green chili -3 (chopped)
Onion -¼ cup (chopped)
Coriander leaves -1tbsp (chopped)
Garam masala -½tsp
Salt -to taste
Ginger grated -¼tsp (optional)

Dough:

Wheat flour -2 cups
Water warm -1 cup(approx.)
Salt -to taste
Oil -2tsp

Method:

  1. Prepare chappati dough – Mix wheat flour ,salt, oil and water, make into a smooth ball and keep it aside.
  2. Prepare stuffing—Mash the boiled potatoes and mix all the ingredients and make in to smooth ball, keep it aside.
  3. Make the lemon size balls of the chappati dough and the potato mixture keep it aside.
  4. Take two ball of chappati dough and roll in it into a small circles.
  5. Place one of the circles on the bottom and place one ball of potato mixture on top of it.
  6. Then place the second circle of chappati  on top of the potato ball.
  7. With the palm of you hand flatten the three layer. Finally seal off the edges of the two chappatis properly without air pocket.
  8. And roll it like thick chappati, make sure potato mixture does not come out.
  9. Heat a tawa and place  the chappati on it and fry on both sides with little ghee or oil.
  10. Now ready to serve.

Note:

  1. You can also take a large chappati dough roll into a smooth ball and make it into a cup shape and place the potato mixture into the cup and seal it  into a round ball and roll it into a thick chappati and fry it.
