Vegetarian Chicken Kuzhambu (Gravy)

 

Serving: 3 | Type: Veg-Gravy

Ingredients:

Vegetarian Chicken -300 gram
Onion(Chopped) -1cup
Tomato(Chopped) -½ cup
Garlic(chopped) -5pods
Ginger Garlic Paste -1tsp
Chili Powder -2tsp
Green chili(slit) -1
Turmeric -¼tsp
Salt -to taste
Cashew nut -15
Khus Khus -1tsp
Garam Masala -1tsp

Seasoning:

Oil -3tbsp
Cumin -½tsp
Sombu -½tsp
Cloves -2
Cinnamon -1inch
Kal Pasi -few
Curry Leaves -few
Red chili -1

Method:

  1. Grind cashew nut and khus khus with little water like paste and keep it aside.
  2. Take heavy bottom vessel heat with oil add seasonings fry without burning.
  3. Now add onion, green chili and garlic, sauté with little salt and turmeric for 1 minute.
  4. Then add ginger garlic paste sauté for few seconds and add tomato sauté until tomato get mash.
  5. Now add chili powder and veg chicken sauté for few minutes then add 2 cups of water.
  6. Cook it until chicken get soft then add ground paste and garam masala.
  7. Cook it for few minutes and kuzhambu gets thicken.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves.
  9. Serve with white rice, idly, dosa, roti or pulav.

Note:

  1. Vegetarian chicken can be bought in all American groceries in the freezer section.
