Keerai Kuzhambu (Spinach Gravy with Lentil)

Ingredients:

Spinach (chopped)

-1 bunch

Thur Dhal

-1/2 cup

Onion(diced)

– ½ cup

Tomato (diced)

– ½ cup

Green and red chili each

-3

Garlic

-4 to 6 pods

Tamarind

-Small lemon size

Turmeric

-1/4 tsp

Salt

-to taste

Seasoning:

Oil

– 2tbsp

Thalikkira Vadaham

-1tbsp

Method:

      1. Take a pressure cooker add everything above ingredients except salt.

      2. Add 2 cups of water and cover with lid. Let it 3 whistle comes then let it simmer for 5 minutes then turn off the stove.

      3. Let it cool down and open the cooker add salt mash well.

      4. Take a pan heat with oil add seasoning fry without burning. Then mix it into the cooked Keerai.

      5. Serve with white rice.

Note:

1. If you don’t have Thalikkira vadaham you can season with mustard seeds, Urad dhal, cumin,and asofedida.

2. You can use any keerai.
