Keeraithandu Thattappayaru Kuzhambu(Blackeyepeas Amaranth Steam Gravy)

 

Serving: 4| Type: Chetinadu –Kuzhambu

Ingredients:

Keerai Thandu -1cup
Thattappayaru -½ cup
Onion -1
Tomato -1
Chili Dhaniya Powder -2tsp
Turmeric -¼tsp
Salt -to taste
Coriander leaves -few
Lemon Juice -1tbsp

 

Seasonings:

Oil -2tbsp
Mustard -1tsp
Urad Dhal -½tsp
Cumin -½tsp
Red Chili -1
Curry leaves -few

 

Method:

  1. Dry roast the thattappayaru , until aroma comes then keep it aside.
  2. Take a pressure cooker  add roasted thattppayaru, keerai thandu and 2 cups of water.
  3. Then chili dhaniya powder and turmeric powder .
  4. Cover with lid make two whistle comes and keep it simmer for 5 minutes and turn off the stove.
  5. Take a pan heat with oil add seasonings fry without burning then add onion sauté for few minutes .
  6. Then add tomato ,salt and turmeric sauté until tomato get mash , then add it into the kuzhambu.
  7. Boil it for five minutes , then add coriander leaves now turn off the stove.
  8. Now add lemon juice .
  9. Ready to serve with rice.
