Pudina Vengayam ThakkaliThovayal (mint onion tomato Thick chutney)

Serving:3 |Type: Side Dish

 

Ingredients:

Mint -1 cup
Coconut(grated) -2tbsp(optional)
Onion (chopped) -½ cup
Tomato (chopped) -¼ cup
Water -to grind
Tamarind -small marble size
Salt -to taste

Seasoning:

Oil -1tbsp
Mustard -½tsp
Uard Dhal -½tsp
Red Chili -4 or5
Asafotida -¼tsp
Curry Leaves -few (optional)

Method:

  1. In the pan heat with oil add seasonings fry without burning.
  2. Add onion sauté until onion change the colour ad tomato.
  3. Sauté about 1 minute now add mint fry for a minute turn off the stove.
  4. Now add coconut, tamarind and salt.
  5. Grind all fried things with water coarsely.
  6. Thovayal should be thick, not very thin.
  7. Serve with idly, dosa.

Note:

  1. You can serve with any other tiffin items.
  2. Mix with white rice and eat it.
