Thengai Sadam (Coconut Rice)

 

Serving: 3 | Type: Veg Rice

Ingredients:

 

Raw Rice -1 ½ cup
Grated Coconut -½cup
Oil  -3tbsp
Mustard -1tsp
Urad Dhal -2tsp
Channa Dhal -2tsp
Cashew nuts -15
Curry leaves -few
Red Chili -2
Green Chili -2
Salt -to taste

 

Method:

  1. Cook the rice in the pressure cooker with little salt and oil.
  2. Spread it in the big bowl and let it cool.
  3. Take a pan heat with oil add all seasonings fry without burning.
  4. Then add grated coconut sauté for 2 to 4 minute and add salt, then turn off the stove.
  5. Now mix with rice well coated.
  6. Serve with any kootu, more kuzhambu.

Note:

  1. Instead of cooking oil you can use coconut oil.
