Raw Mango Rice

Serving: 2 | Type:  Rice verities


Raw Rice -1cup
Raw Mango(Grated) -½ cup
Green chili -3
Turmeric -¼tsp
Chili Powder -1tsp
Salt -to taste
Lemon Juice -1tbsp(optional)



Oil -3 to4tbsp
Mustard -1tsp
Urad Dhal -2tsp
Channa Dhal -2tsp
Red Chili -2
Curry Leaves -few
Asafetida -¼tsp
Cashew nuts -10(optional)



  1. Cook the rice with salt and 2tsp oil in the rice cooker.
  2. Transfer the rice in the big bowl and spread the rice and let it cool.
  3. Take a pan heat with oil add seasoning fry without burning.
  4. Now add green chili sauté for 30 seconds then add turmeric, chili powder.
  5. Then add grated mango sauté for 5 to 10 minute now add little salt.
  6. Then mix it with  the rice.
  7. Check the salt and sourness of the rice.
  8. If Sourness is not enough add lemon juice.
  9. Serve with any mor kootu or chips and appalam.


  1. Increase or decrease the green chili and chili powder.
  2. You can use basmati rice, sona masoori or ponni raw rice.
  3. Add lemon juice depending on the sourness of the raw mango.
