Chekkodi (Andhra Murukku)

Serving: 50 to 60 pieces| Type: Snack / Deepavali Snack


Rice Flour -1cup
Water -1 ½ cups
Chili Powder -2tsp
Sesame seeds -2tsp
Salt -to taste
Asafotida -1/2 tbsp
Oil -for frying




  1. Mix everything like dry and keep it aside.
  2. Then boil the water and pour the dry ingredients and cover it and let it sit.
  3. Let it cool down.
  4. Now mix nicely like smooth dough, if water is not enough add little water.
  5. With hand make like string and cut it like 1 to 1 ½ inch length piece and joined like ring.
  6. Make everything like ring and keep it aside.
  7. Take a pan heat with oil on medium high.
  8. Fry it like crisp and take out from the oil and put it in the paper towel.
  9. Let it cool and store it in the air tight container.
