Green Brinjal Pepper Fry-Kathirikkai(Eggplant)

Green Eggplant_full


Eggplant -400 grams
Onion(diced) -½ cup
Oil -1tbsp
Mustard -1tsp
Urad Dhal -1tbsp
Curry Leaves -few
Black pepper -1tbsp
Cumin (jeera) -1tsp
Salt -to taste



  1. Coarsely powder the pepper and jeera and keep it aside.
  2. Cut and wash the eggplant lengthwise.
  3. Take a pan heat with oil add seasonings fry without burning.
  4. Then add onion sauté for a30 seconds with salt.
  5. Now add eggplant sauté for 2 to 3 minutes on medium flame.
  6. Now add pepper jeera powder sauté again until eggplant get soft and crisp.
  7. Turn off the stove.
  8. Serve with rice.
