Steel cut oats lemon masala

Serving:2 |Type: Veg-Rice


Steel cut oats -1cup
Turmeric -¼tsp
Curry powder -1tbsp
Salt -to taste
Coriander leaves -1tbsp
Lemon Juice -2 to 3tbsp



Oil -2tbsp
Mustard -1tsp
Urad Dhal -2tsp
Channa Dhal -2tsp
Green Chili -3
Red Chili -1
Asafotida -¼tsp
Curry Leaves -few
Cashew nuts -10



  1. Take a pan dry roast  the oats for 3 to 4 minutes on medium flame.
  2. Take a pressure cooker cook the oats like rice(water ratio -1 : 1 ½ cup)until 2 whistle comes then turn off the stove.
  3. Take a pan heat with oil add seasoning fry without burning.
  4. Then add turmeric powder, curry powder, salt and lemon juice.
  5. Mix it with cooked oats.
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and cranberry.
  7. Serve like lemon rice.


  1. Instead of curry powder you can use rasam powder.
