Vazhaipoo Vadai (Banana Blossom Vada)

Ingredients:

 

 

Vazhaipoo -1 cup (chopped)
Onion -1 small(chopped)
Curry Leaves -1tbsp
Coriander Leaves -1tbsp
Salt -to taste
Oil -for frying

For Grinding:

 

 

Thur Dhal -1 cup Soaked
Red Chili -5
Aniseed (Sombu) -1/4tsp
Cumin -/4tsp
Asafotida -1/4tsp
Turmeric Powder -1/4tsp

Method:

  1. Grind all the ingredients above very coarsely and keep it aside.
  2. Then take chopped vazhaipoo grind it like 2 seconds  put it in the water and squeeze out excess water and keep it aside.
  3. Then mix all the things together except for oil.
  4. In the pan pour oil and heat it with the medium flame.
  5. Make small flat circle in the palm of your hand and deep fry till golden brown.
  6. Serve hot like a snack or as a side dish for rice with sambar.

Note:

  1. You can avoid onion and aniseed.
  2. You can make this vada with grated beetroot instead of vazhaipoo (banana blossom).
